During these times of COVID 19 and social distancing, we are all feeling more disconnected than ever. Many of us are longing to get out there and experience the world and its wonders again. We are missing the ability to travel to new destinations or revisit those we have been in the past. The feeling of spontaneity is lost, and we want to have some fun again!
Well, if you are a travel and food lover, then you are going to love the International Dinner Club! Each month we will explore a new country and members receive a 5-course menu complete with wine and juice pairings to prepare with family and friends. To set the mood and create the right ambience for your dining experience, we also include a video of the region with fun facts and tips to learn about each country to use when we can travel again. The music you can get from YouTube and decorate how you like to get the travel feel. All that’s left to do is invite friends, each cook up your masterpiece, then gather around the table for food, friends, fun, and great conversation.
You are probably wondering how can this be COVID style and involve social distancing?
Create the dinner party for those you have in your bubble – or make portions for you and your family and set up a zoom party with other guests. This way you can create with others around the world and reach more people.
New Portion Controls
We just added a new feature to our recipes in the International Dinner Club that allows you to adjust the serving size from 1 to 20. The feature allows you to automatically adjust the ingredient quantities required. A great way to easily adjust any recipe to fit your group perfectly and can be found on the recipe under servings.
We have also upgraded our system so you can order the food online (area depending). So you can order directly from the recipe for ease and then enjoy the time cooking and trying something new.
This month we will be featuring a Mexican theme with Mexican cuisine and we have included our Mexican Salsa Verde below. Dario was the executive chef at the Grand Melia Hotel in Cancun for years and has some special tricks to making this delicious meal with tomatillo or green tomatoes.

Mexican Salsa Verde
- 8 pcs tomatillo (Mexican green tomato)
- 180 gr cooking onions chopped
- 8 garlic cloves chopped
- 150 gr Green Chiles (Jalapeño or Serrano) fresh
- 60 gr fresh cilantro
- 60 ml oil
- Salt to taste
- Remove the tomatillo from the husk and wash them under cold water.
- Cut the tomatillo in fourth and add them into a food blender with, onions, garlic, chillies and cilantro and blend until smooth puree.
- Heat the oil in a large saucepan, add the puree and cook for 4 to 5 minutes (until slightly thickened)
- Season with salt to taste.
